Takumi Yamazaki is a photographer working exclusively on 35mm film in Tokyo, under the name takumital.
He came to photography through commercial film direction — work as takumifone, directing and shooting for clients including HP Inc. and Arc'teryx — and through a lifelong love of cinema, which still sets the grammar of his frames. Underneath runs an obsession with industrial design history: the same Giorgetto Giugiaro geometry that drew his Nikon F3 informs how he frames a city. His work sits between portrait, fashion and document: machines, and the people around them.
